Strengthening Indo-German cooperation on solar and battery storage at Intersolar/The smarter E Europe 2025
The Indo-German Energy Forum Support Office (IGEF-SO) actively participated in Intersolar Europe, which took place from May 6–9, 2025, at Messe München as part of The smarter E Europe – Europe’s largest alliance of exhibitions for the energy industry. The event brought together 1,450 exhibitors. IGEF-SO used this platform to promote collaboration between Indian and German stakeholders in the solar and battery storage sector.
As part of a dedicated exchange program, IGEF-SO visited together with the National Solar Energy Federation of India (NSEFI) three Agri-PV plants at the Bavarian State Research Center in Grub. These pilot installations featured innovative technologies from leading German companies Krinner, Next2Sun, and Schletter.

At the booth of the German Energy Export Initiative of the BMWE, Mr.Tobias Winter, Director, IGEF-SO presented current developments and investment opportunities in India’s dynamic solar market. A key highlight of the week was a high-level Indo-German networking event co-hosted by IGEF-SO, the German Solar Association (BSW), NSEFI, and other partners such as the German Renewable Energy Federation (BEE). More than 70 representatives from industry, academia, policy, and public administration came together to explore joint business opportunities in solar and storage. Mr. Ashish Khanna, the newly appointed Director General of the International Solar Alliance (ISA), opened the event and emphasized the strategic importance of Indo-German cooperation in the global energy transition. He also engaged in several bilateral discussions on the sidelines.

The next Intersolar Europe will take place from Tuesday, June 23 to Thursday, June 25, 2026 as part of The smarter E Europe, at Messe München.
