German Pavilion at Windergy India 2025

The 7th edition of the Windergy India 2025 brought together the policymakers, manufacturers, and investors from 29 – 31 Oct at Chennai Trade centre, Chennai. The event was organised by the Indian Wind Turbine Manufacturers Association (IWTMA) and PDA Ventures.

Among the highlights was the German Pavilion, hosted by the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce (IGCC) in collaboration with the Indo-German Energy Forum Support Office (IGEF-SO) and other partners.

The Pavilion reflected Germany’s long-standing commitment to India’s renewable energy growth. German companies such as Deutsche Windguard, Highvolt Pruftechnik Dresden, windcomp, Harbauer India/Romotion Cam, and Rittal exhibited, along with the German wind associations Bundesverband WindEnergie e.V. (BWE) and Stiftung Offshore Wind, as well as Germany Trade & Invest (GTAI).

Beyond technology displays, the Pavilion served as an active B2B engagement hub-facilitating discussions, policy exchanges, and new partnership opportunities between German innovators and Indian stakeholders.

The Pavilion was inaugurated by Mr. Johann Saathoff, Parliamentary State Secretary, Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). He was joined by a distinguished German delegation including Dr Katharina Berner (BMWE), Ms. Barbara Schafer (BMZ), Mr. Ralf Hendriks (BWE), Mr. Andreas Mummert (Stiftung Offshore wind), alongside senior representatives from the government and private sector.

Mr. Saathoff’s remarks emphasised that wind energy is not only a key pillar of Germany’s Energiewende (energy transition) but also a gateway to livelihoods, economic progress, and sustainable development.

A key highlight was the visit of Shri. Pralhad Joshi, Union Minister of New and Renewable Energy and Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Government of India at the Pavilion. The German delegation and exhibitors got an opportunity to engage with the minister.

The day concluded with an Indo-German networking reception, where representatives from leading Indian and German companies and associations met, exchanged ideas, and explored future collaborations.
