The Indo-German Energy Forum (IGEF) provides a dialogue platform for high-level policy makers, financial institutions, industry and research organizations to deepen and enhance the bilateral cooperation for the energy transition in Germany and India.
Both leaders expressed satisfaction about the cooperation in the field of renewable energy and energy efficiency, including the important and successful work under the Indo-German Energy Forum (IGEF).
Highlights
Since its establishment in 2006, the Indo-German Energy Forum has successfully intensified Indo-German Cooperation in the areas of energy security, energy efficiency and renewable energies, investment in energy projects as well as collaborative research and development. Below are the recent Highlights of IGEF:
GSC-2025 on 11 Jan 2025, will host panel discussions, technical presentations, and interactive sessions to advance Indian shipping's adoption of alternative fuels (5% by 2030) and work toward net-zero emissions by 2050. Building on outcomes from the 2022 Conclave, the event will assess progress and introduce new solutions developed over the past three years.
The event will feature five focused panel discussions, addressing key themes such as establishing a green technology baseline, involving non-traditional stakeholders, derisking access to funding, and accelerating green technology adoption. In addition to the panel discussions, the Conclave will host a CEO and Policy Maker Forum and initiate a debate on shaping a Consultative framework for a Comprehensive Green Shipping Policy for India.
The smarter E India Conference provides strategic inputs in all the key aspects of the fast growing Indian green hydrogen, solar, energy storage and EV ecosystem.

Launch of the Women in India Chapter at Intersolar
Women in Green Hydrogen (WiGH) is an association representing women professionals in the hydrogen industry which work aims to increase women's participation and foster women leadership in the green hydrogen and renewable energy sector.
WiGH mission is to raise visibility and amplify the voices of women working in hydrogen by providing a platform to connect, empower, and change. To expand our global impact, several WiGH regional hubs are being established across Africa, South America and Asia.
World Sustainable Development Summit (WSDS)
WSDS 2025, which is the 24th edition of the Summit, focused on the umbrella theme: Partnerships for Accelerating Sustainable Development and Climate Solutions. The 24th edition of the Summit will take place from March 5–7, 2025 at the India Habitat Centre, New Delhi, India.
The German-Indian Round Table (GIRT) will take place on 6 March 2025. It has set itself the task to facilitate the business relations between India and Germany. Every two months, Indian and German businessmen and corporate leaders meet in a casual atmosphere.
In addition to that, the German-Indian Round Table regularly offers information events about special topics.
The 11th edition of ISUW is scheduled from 18 - 22 March 2025 in New Delhi, India, as an International Conference and Exhibition on Smart Energy and Smart Mobility. ISUW 2025 will include plenary sessions, special & bilateral workshops, keynotes, roundtables, technical sessions, technical paper presentations, tutorials, and technical tours.
ISGF has been organising its flagship annual event, India Smart Utility Week (ISUW) since 2015 and it is considered as one of the top five international events on Smart Grids, Electric Mobility and Smart Energy. The assembly aims to highlight India’s clean energy ambitions and initiatives, projects, and market prospects, positioning the country as a prime destination for global partnerships and investment in energy and green hydrogen. It is designed to catalyse significant international collaboration, driving investments into India's green hydrogen value chain and advancing the nation's goals for energy transition and sustainable development.
