Forum 2015

The 6th German-Indian Energy Forum took place on February 13, 2015 in New Delhi, India. The meeting focused on Four main thematic areas allowing for comprehensive discussions on:

1. Efficiency Enhancement in Fossil Fuel Based Power Plants
2. Renewable Energies
3. Demand-Side Energy Efficiency and Low-Carbon Growth Strategies

4. Green Energy Corridors and Grid Management


The meeting provided a unique opportunity for public and private sector stakeholders to convene and develop a common understanding of the most promising opportunities for Indo-German cooperation in the energy sector.

In addition, the meeting of the IGEF Sub Groups 1, 2, and 3 and a founding meeting of the new Sub Group on Green Energy Corridor took place during the week of the Forum meeting.

The Forum is jointly organized by:

  • Ministry of Power (MOP, India),
  • Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE, India),
  • Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology (BMWi, Germany),
  • Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU, Germany),
  • Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ, Germany),
  • Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE, India),
  • German Development Bank (KfW) and
  • German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ).
