Forum 2013

The 5th German-Indian Energy Forum took place on February 13, 2013 in Berlin, Germany. The meeting focused on three main thematic areas allowing for comprehensive discussions on:

1.        Efficiency Enhancement in Fossil Fuel Based Power Plants
2.        Renewable Energies
3.        Demand-Side Energy Efficiency and Low-Carbon Growth Strategies

The meeting provided a unique opportunity for public and private sector stakeholders to convene and develop a common understanding of the most promising opportunities for Indo-German cooperation in the energy sector.

In addition, the meeting of the IGEF Sub Groups 1 and 2, several site visits and B2B talks in the field of renewable energies and energy efficiency have taken place during the week of the Forum meeting.

The Forum is jointly organized by:

  • Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE, India),
  • Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology (BMWi, Germany),
  • Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU, Germany),
  • Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ, Germany),
  • Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE, India),
  • German Development Bank (KfW) and
  • German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ).
